Pearl Octopuss.y is an Oslo based jewellery brand with an immersive visual universe centered around the bold and eccentric.

Established by designer Cathrine Børter, the brand was founded in 2018, with the desire to fuse and master the balance between minimalism and maximalism. However it was not until January 2020, that the brand was officially launched.

Cathrine Børter had been working as a women’s wear designer in Oslo for almost a decade, until she started making her own jewellery - almost by accident during her first maternity leave.

“ I instantly fell in love with the process and the feeling of working so detailed with my hands. Suddenly I just couldn’t stop doing it. It’s my own personal space where I get to create things I find beautiful - as well as it is really satisfying to make something real. To create an object in your hands.“

The brand is uncompromising in its aesthetic. Made for both him and her. Dedicated to its visual universe with its signature shapes and materials.

A core value of the brand is an intuitive design approach; centering atmosphere and mood rather than constraints like season, gender or trends. The pieces are handmade with an obsessive care for detail, craftsmanship and the nostalgia of owning something unique. Due to its handmade nature and choice of materials, such as Organic Freshwater Pearls, each item will be slightly different - our hope is for our customers to appreciate all these small variations, and that it adds to the value - that not one piece is exactly the same.

Pearl Octopuss.y has collaborated with brands such as Baum und Pfergarten, Tol Eyewear, Cazal Eyewar and Jason Wu. Our goal is to continue to make beautiful quality products and to be able to connect with customers all around the world.
