SUSTAINABILITY AND VALUES
PEARL OCTOPUSS.Y is a maximal, whimscial and authentic brand, driven from the heart and created with love. A core value for the brand is designing and making jewelry that can be worn in multiple ways and therefore easily elevate ones wardrobe. We love our basic wardrobe, but we also want to feel unique and wear special pieces, that’s why we created our signature look where you can easily elevate your basic wardrobe with our jewelry. In our photoshoots we aim to inspire with these looks.
We hope that placing emphasis on personal style and identity in our designs can serve as a countermeasure to overconsumption, rapid trend cycles and the need for constant reinvention, rather making pieces meant to be cherished and worn for a long time. We want to encoruage a conscious mindset towards one’s wardrobe, altering your outfits through accessories and styling - rather than buying an entirely new one. Many of our pieces are convertible, like brooches, tie-style necklaces, or sculptural pieces on exible wire, and we hope this can contribute to a more playful approach to styling.
A core value of the brand is centering atmosphere and mood rather than constraints like season, gender or trends. Our aim is for the visual identity to be recognizable season after season, embracing our key pieces and ensuring that any new additions feel true to the PEARL OCTOPUSS.Y universe. This way we do not want to contribute to the endless fashion cycle of news after news and trends eating trends. We want our customer to feel safe that the pieces they buy from us, will still be relevant years from now.
The brand is also uncompromising in its aesthetic. Made for both him and her. Dedicated to its visual universe with its signature shapes and materials. Through our own images, we want to highlight how even a minimal wardrobe can be elevated with a signature piece of jewelry.
MATERIALS AND PACKAGING
The consistent use of the same materials is also a sustainability measure and a concious desicion - ensuring we have the option to dismantle defective products and reuse the materials. We aim for a no waste policy, reusing materials both for the products and packaging, and offer repair services in our studio.
Our earrings are made in certified Recycled Silver .
Our packaging is made of Fair Trade and Eco Friendly materials. The jewelry pouches are made of Organic Fair Trade cotton and have certified stamps. We use natural hemp on the pouches to avoid any unnecessary dyeing.
